Man City are reportedly leading the chase to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland in either January or next summer.

According to Bild, the German giants will set an asking price of €75m (£64m) for Haaland in 2022, with Man City ‘in pole position to sign the Norwegian striker.

The Premier League champions failed to bring in a replacement for Sergio Aguero during the summer transfer window. Harry Kane was the club’s top target, but City were unable to agree a deal with Tottenham for the England attacker.

Indeed, whilst Ferran Torres has impressed in the striker role for City this season, a natural centre-forward is needed for Pep Guardiola’s side. And Haaland appears to be the club’s top target over the next 12 months.

The Dortmund attacker grew up a Man City fan, and Haaland is now firmly on the club’s radar with the Bundesliga side open to selling the striker either in January or next summer.

Haaland is one of the top strikers in Europe and would be an ideal fit for Man City. And on social media, fans are begging the club to not mess up this transfer and to bring the 21-year-old to the Premier League.
