Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Ryan Sessegnon are among the players who have congratulated Aston Villa central defender Ezri Konsa on Instagram on signing a new contract.
Maitland-Niles, on loan at West Bromwich Albion from Arsenal, and Sessegnon, on loan at Hoffenheim from Tottenham Hotspur, are happy to see English compatriot Konsa rewarded by his club Villa for his performances this season with a new deal.
Villa announced on their official website on Friday that the 23-year-old central defender has put pen to paper on a new contract that will see him stay at Villa Park until 2026 at least.
According to WhoScored, the Englishman has made 25 starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for the Villans so far this season, scoring two goals in the process.
Blow for Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool
While Villa fans will be delighted at the news that Konsa has committed his long-term future to the club, the announcement will come as a blow to both Liverpool and Tottenham.

The Athletic reported in February that Tottenham and Liverpool are monitoring the defender ahead of a possible move in the summer of 2021.
It is now clear that Villa have no plans of cashing in on the defender anytime soon.
