Khalid Abdo left Aston Villa when his contract expired in the summer, and is now training with the league leaders in Sweden’s top flight.

Abdo spent six years on the Villans’ books. As reported by Sky Sports back in 2012, it appeared to be something of a coup for the Midlands side when they completed a deal to sign the then-16-year-old, with both Fulham and Hamburg interested in the teenager.
But he left in the summer having failed to make a single appearance for the Villa first-team. He featured fairly prominently for the under-23 side, making nearly 50 appearances in Premier League 2.
The versatile midfielder appears to be potentially closing in on his next club, with AIK confirming on their official website that they have the 21-year-old training with them indefinitely.

AIK are enjoying a superb season. They currently top the Swedish top flight by five points after 20 games. They also reached the second qualifying round of the Europa League before being knocked out.
Abdo looks set to link up with the likes of Sebastian Larsson and Joel Ekstrand at AIK. Both men joined the club earlier this year after lengthy spells in England.
