Tottenham Hotspur fans on Twitter were gutted to hear that their former player Luke Amos is set to be out for the rest of the season because of a knee injury.

The 23-year-old joined QPR this summer from Spurs and the Championship club shared on their official website on Tuesday that Amos has ruptured his ACL in his right knee and is set to miss the rest of the campaign.

Unfortunately for Amos, he has been down this road before because he suffered a similar injury two years ago when he was still on Tottenham’s books.

Nonetheless, the technically-gifted midfielder posted this message on his Instagram page and Toby Alderweireld simply commented underneath: ‘Get well soon’.

Spurs academy product, Jack Roles also shared a message by saying: ‘You got this’.

This will be more of a mental than a physical battle for Amos, who will know just how tough it is to get back on your feet and recover from such a long-term injury.

After recovering from his previous spell on the sidelines, Amos was beginning to make a name for himself once again and impressing for a QPR team trying to push into the play-offs.

Initially, he was on-loan at QPR last season and he impressed them to a point where they snapped him up on a permanent contract.

But just like before, Amos will be hoping he comes out of this stronger and fitter than ever before.
