Gary Lineker has lauded Eddie Howe after Newcastle United beat Brighton & Hove Albion 4-1 on Thursday night.

Gary Lineker was not the only one to sit back and reflect on the incredible job Eddie Howe has done at Newcastle United after his side’s victory against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Courtesy of an own goal from Denis Undav, followed by strikes from Dan Burn, Callum Wilson and Bruno Guimaraes, the Seagulls striker’s goal at his own end, this time around at 2-1 led to nothing at the end of the day.

After a 2-0 defeat to Arsenal and a 2-2 draw against Leeds United, some started to claim that they were slipping up in their quest for a top four place.

However, Newcastle silenced their doubters with an emphatic performance against Brighton, which led to Gary Lineker reserving special praise for Eddie Howe, who Pep Guardiola also said (via the Guardian) has done a ‘top-class job.’

“Superb and important victory for Newcastle United against another excellent Premier League side. Eddie Howe is way ahead of the curve.”

Eddie Howe has well and truly put every doubt about him to bed at Newcastle

After the Magpies were taken over and the former Bournemouth tactician was brought in through the door, many felt his sacking was inevitable as the club grew more ambitious.

However, as Gary Lineker claimed after Newcastle beat Brighton, Eddie Howe seemingly always had a plan up his sleeve.

From day one, the Englishman has dispelled the question marks around his ability to coach a defence, as his side have shipped the second least number of goals in the Premier League this season.

While going forward, Newcastle’s counter-attack is one of the deadliest in the league as well.

With Howe’s side showing early signs of Klopp’s Liverpool, he has well and truly put every doubt about his coaching ability to bed by doing a remarkable job at the club.
