Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Tim Sherwood described Antonio Conte’s decision to ban ketchup as ‘nonsense’.

What’s the story?

Well, it’s safe to say Sherwood thinks it was a needless decision to ban ketchup from the canteen at Hotspur Way.

According to The Times, Conte has also banned his Tottenham players from eating mayonnaise, as he has doubts over their fitness levels.

Speaking to Premier League Daily, Sherwood said: “Well, don’t underestimate banning ketchup and mayo because they will all of a sudden start passing the ball to each other and scoring loads of goals. It’s normally the secret. No, what a load of nonsense.”

Now, one supporter said they somewhat agree with Sherwood’s views on the condiment ban, with another saying Conte has perhaps gone ‘too far’.

In truth, whether it has an impact or not, it at least gives Conte some immediate authority at Spurs, having made a big decision early on.

It’s only a small matter, although the elite managers find marginal gains.

Given the Italian’s past success, it would probably be smart to listen to him as he nitpicks the smaller details at Tottenham.

How have Tottenham players responded to ketchup ban under Antonio Conte?

There haven’t been many games since this decision was made, due to the international break, although London World can provide some insight.

They believe that the Tottenham squad have reacted positively to the change – there has been plenty of willingness to make dietary amendments.

It’s good to see the Spurs players buying into Conte’s methods, even for something as small as a ban on ketchup and mayonnaise.

If it helps fire them to silverware, we’re sure nobody will care about the lack of condiments on offer at Hotspur Way.

For now, let’s see what the Tottenham fans on Twitter have been saying about Sherwood’s comments…
