Tottenham Hotspur reportedly wanted to sign Gareth Bale from Real Madrid in January.

Bale’s agent has also stated that the Wales international winger loves Madrid, and that his family is settled in the Spanish capital.
Barnett told AS when asked if Bale could return to Tottenham in the future: “No. He’s 30 years old, he’ll be 31 next year.
“I don’t know how long Gareth will play for. It’s what his lifestyle wants. He loves Madrid. His children have been there since they were babies, they speak Spanish, believe it or not [laughs].
“The whole lifestyle is fantastic. I was there two days ago in Madrid, it was 15 degrees, beautiful. Here it’s freezing cold. If you’re one of the greatest footballers to have ever played, why do you want to…”

Tottenham Hotspur’s interest
The Daily Mail reported last month that Tottenham wanted to bring Bale back to the club from Madrid in the January transfer window.
It was reported that that Spurs held talks with the Spanish and European giants, but the winger’s £600,000-a-week salary prevented them from making a deal.
Real Madrid spell
The 30-year-old winger has been on the books of Madrid since the summer of 2013 when he joined from Premier League outfit Tottenham for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £85.3 million.
During his time at Madrid so far, Bale has won La Liga once and the Champions League four times among other major honours.
