The representatives of Lyon winger Rachid Ghezzal have been commenting on Everton’s interest in his client during the summer.
Speaking to Le Progres this week his brother Abdelkader Ghezzal had this to say about the interest from Everton in the Lyon player:
“Everton made a great offer financially. But it was less sportingly. Rachid has a good head on his shoulders, he was in on it, and we must see what is best for him in sport.”

Meanwhile his agent Pascal Yvars has commented on his future at Lyon. At the moment he is not being played regularly at Lyon and if that situation does not change the winger could be on his way:
“We met with the club and everything went well. The file was well advanced, it seemed agreed.
“But then, on what is transmitted to us, we were very far apart on promises. We had to take the time to think. He was not stuck on a contractual situation, not at all.

“Either Rachid is an important player and the club has on him or it’s not interesting for the future.”
In the summer Le Progres reported that Everton had come to an agreement with Lyon to sign the player. The report claimed Everton agreed a deal of €11 million (then £9.5 million) for the player, with a 20 per cent resale figure if he departs Goodison Park.
It was then reported by French newspaper L’Equipe that Everton had made a move to sign the Lyon star, but the player has rejected a possible switch to Goodison Park as he wants to play European football this season.
But Ghezzal is out of contract next summer and is not currently featuring regularly for the Lyon first-team.
With that in mind there is no doubt that Everton might be back in for the player this winter.
