Eyebrows were raised earlier in September when it emerged that Arsenal’s Gabriel Jesus hadn’t been selected for Brazil’s squad during the international break.
Jesus left Manchester City to join the Gunners in a £45 million summer transfer.
And since then, the South American attacker has arguably been Arsenal’s best player this season, with Mikel Arteta’s side sitting top of the Premier League.
So when Jesus didn’t get a call-up to the national team for recent friendlies, it was a little confusing.

However, the player’s representatives predict that the 25-year-old will be going to the World Cup with Brazil nonetheless.
That is according to The Sun, who report that the Selecao boss Tite merely wanted to experiment with other options, rather than it be an admission that the Arsenal hitman is out of his plans.
The former Manchester City marksman has been in stunning form, netting four Premier League goals.
However, that doesn’t really tell the full story of Jesus, who has become an instant fan favourite for not only his goals, but his ability to bamboozle defenders with the sort of skills that Brazilians are known for, along with his capacity to create genuine chances.
He has been a revelation since arriving in North London and it seems a massive stretch to believe that he won’t be going to Qatar.
If Gabriel is fit, a World Cup spot is inevitable.
