Tottenham Hotspur may have missed out on Antonio Conte, but they’re on the verge of adding his fellow Italian Fabio Paratici.
The ideal situation was that Conte and Paratici, who worked together at Juventus, would reunite in an exciting partnership at Tottenham.
That isn’t happening though, and whilst Conte won’t be arriving – and may go on sabbatical – Paratici is expected in London later this week and is already planning Tottenham’s summer business.
Paratici urged to avoid Tottenham job
Italian agent Vincenzo Morabito has been asked for his take on Paratici to Tottenham, and it’s clear that he isn’t a fan of the move.
Morabito told Tuttomercatoweb that he felt Paratici did an ‘excellent job’ at Juventus, but was held up as a scapegoat for Juve not winning the Champions League.
Morabito also feels that Tottenham isn’t the right job for Paratici because they’re much worse off than their rivals and could lose Harry Kane, urging Paratici to pull a U-turn and reject Spurs in order to take a break after his time at Juve.
“Paratici did an excellent job, perhaps less appreciated because of the Champions League that did not arrive,” said Morabito. “It seems that he was a bit of a scapegoat for the Perugia affair, but having said that he can do well in other clubs as well. As a friend, I would advise him to take a year off, even if I know it is difficult.”
“Of the top 6-7 clubs in England, they are the ones that are worse off. Then preparing to sell Kane, because you see when a player doesn’t want to stay. He should not go to a club with the possibility of currently fighting with the very big ones, you risk doing a demanding job but with little results.”
“I think it would do him good after this experience at Juventus,” he added when asked if Paratici should stop talks with Tottenham.

Paratici snubbing Tottenham surely won’t happen
Morabito’s fears for Paratici are understandable, as he has been working in a high-pressure role for 11 years.
Paratici is so far down the line with Tottenham that he has already started planning for the summer, suggesting that he isn’t even thinking about a U-turn.
Tottenham missing out on Paratici after the Conte situation would be a nightmare, but one that they shouldn’t go through despite Morabito’s comments.
