Leeds United linked midfielder Jose Campana looks set to leave Levante next year with his agent, Juanma Lopez, telling Macho Levante that he is expecting offers to arrive in 2021.

If Levante were hoping to convince Campana to spend his peak years on the Castellon coast, they are not really helping themselves.

Levante have picked up a grand total of six points from their first eight games in La Liga this season and already look destined for yet another relegation battle.

Their form is in stark contrast to that of their 27-year-old play-maker; an improving and increasingly influential playmaker who was rewarded recently with a first ever cap for the Spanish national team.

Levante are fully aware that Campana is quickly outgrowing a relatively small pond, having caught the eye of not only Luis Enrique but also a number of Premier League clubs.

President Quique Catalan admitted to Marca recently that the one-time Crystal Palace youngster, who he values at £25 million, has asked to leave the Ciutat de Valencia in 2021.

“In the future I believe that several opportunities may open up, both in La Liga and abroad,” added agent Juanma Lopez.

Now, despite spending around £100 million in a hectic summer window, Leeds remain worryingly reliant on the so-called ‘Yorkshire Pirlo’.

It is no coincidence that, shorn of the control and discipline that only Kalvin Phillips can bring to the midfield, Marcelo Bielsa’s side have conceded eight times in their last two Premier League matches.

The promising Pascal Struijk has struggled in Phillips’ injury-enforced absence but you would imagine that Campana, a midfield orchestrator who loves to dictate the game with his slaloming runs and pinpoint passes, would go some way to easing Leeds’ reliance on their homegrown hero.

Leeds saw a £13 million bid knocked back by Levante recently (Super Deporte) and it remains to be seen whether they would be willing to double that initial offer.
