Leeds United youngster Elia Caprile will hold talks over his future at the Premier League club with the goalkeeper dreaming of a move to Serie A giants Napoli, agent Graziano Battistini says via Corriere dello Sport.

The Verona-born stopper only signed a new deal at Elland Road in August 2021 but it seems that his future is already in doubt.

Though Caprile must take his fair share of the blame as his name starts to do the rounds in the gossip columns. The former Chievo kid, who joined Leeds some two and a half years ago, admitted last week that he ‘dreams’ of a future between the sticks at Napoli’s Stadio San Paolo after all.

Caprile did add, however, that he is in no rush to leave the rolling hills of West Yorkshire (Numero Diez).

But according to Battistini, the 20-year-old’s representative, relegation from the Premier League could change everything.

Is Elia Caprile leaving Leeds United?

“His father is a true Neapolitan,” the agent explains.

“Elia is part of an important club like Leeds. We will discuss (his future) with the club at the end of the season. We have not spoken with (Napoli director Cristiano) Giuntoli. Definitely, playing at Napoli is the boy’s dream but it is useless to cause a fuss.

“Elia is at Leeds, which is a great club. They are not well placed in the table. In the case of relegation, all the scenarios change.”

Caprile, who is under contract at Leeds until the summer of 2023, is currently impressing on loan at Pro Patri in the third tier of Italian football. His place as Leeds’ U23 ‘keeper, meanwhile, has been taken by Kristoffer Klaesson following the 21-year-old’s arrival from Norwegian football last summer.

As it stands, Jesse Marsch’s Leeds are outside of the relegation zone but could be dragged into the bottom three if a resurgent Everton side win their game in hand. The Whites’ next two top flight outings will see them go head-to-head with Arsenal and Chelsea.
