Tottenham Hotspur winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou is looking for an exit.
Tottenham Hotspur winger Georges-Kevin Nkoudou has become a forgotten man in North London – and his agent has told France Football that the plan is to move on in January.
Nkoudou was a signing for Spurs in the summer of 2016, as Mauricio Pochettino’s men landed him from Marseille after a lengthy transfer saga that lasted most of the summer.
You would think that, having gone through so much to get him, Nkoudou would feature regularly for Spurs, but the opposite is true; the winger hasn’t even started a Premier League game for Spurs.
The 23-year-old has only made 23 appearances for Spurs in all competitions, and spent the second half of last season on loan with Burnley, where he failed to do enough to earn more playing time with Tottenham.
This season, Nkoudou has appeared just once, and that came as a 64th minute substitute against West Ham United in the Carabao Cup at the end of last month.
It’s clear that Nkoudou simply isn’t going to play under Pochettino, and agent Meissa Ndiaye has now commented on the situation in an interview with France Football.
Ndiaye has criticised chairman Daniel Levy for being tough to negotiate with, and after claiming that a potential exit didn’t go through because of Tottenham’s financial demands – hence the criticism of Levy – he added that the plan is to move on in January, with all parties ready to go their separate ways.
“The chairman and the owner of Tottenham are not the easiest to seduce in the transfer window,: said Ndiaye. “The fact that he did not leave is only the responsibility of the club. Things could not go through for economic reasons, but it was not a drama either.”
“The idea is to leave in January. Both sides want to move forward and turn the page,” he added.
