Dennis Praet would ‘love’ to stay in Serie A with the Torino loanee facing an uncertain future at Premier League outfit Leicester City, the Belgium international’s agent tells AreaNapoli.
With Youri Tielemans looking increasingly likely to leave the King Power Stadium – and with both Hamza Choudhury and Boubakary Soumare struggling to impress under Brendan Rodgers – the Foxes may have a difficult decision to make regarding a player who set the Foxes back a cool £18 million in the summer of 2019.
Praet was farmed out on loan to Torino last year.
But, after the Granata opted against triggering the £13 million option-to-buy clause in the 28-year-old’s contract, no one can be certain as to where Praet will be plying his trade in 2022/23.
Is Dennis Praet leaving Leicester City for a return to Serie A?
“Torino had an option to redeem him and did not exercise it,” explains Martin Riha, the former Sampdoria man’s representative.
“We are still in contact with Torino but we have to wait. And, of course, we have to understand what Leicester want to do. (Could Praet join) Napoli? He still has two years left on his contract in England, but we have interest from some teams.

“We have been in contact with Napoli in the past but now, honestly, I can’t really say what will happen. Everything could speed up within a few days or weeks, because the boy wants to know where his pre-season preparation will start.”
Praet fell out of favour under Brendan Rodgers last term, and the emergence of Kieran Dewsbury-Hall means he would hardly be guaranteed a place in Leicester’s starting XI if he returns to the King Power Stadium with a point to prove.

“Would he like to stay in Serie A? Praet would love to stay in because he has imposed himself in Serie A and his family is very happy in Italy,” Riha adds.
“We don’t know what the English club wants to do and we would like to know what to expect for the new season.
“Honestly, a permanent transfer (to Torino) doesn’t seem so easy right now. I see another loan with an obligation or right of redemption more feasible.”
