Faustino Anjorin’s father and agent has indicated that Southampton are in talks to sign the £17 million forward from Premier League rivals Chelsea, speaking to RB News, translated by Sport24

In the space of half a year, Southampton could be about to sign no fewer than four players from the reigning European champions.

And if Anjorin can emulate the impact Tino Livramento and Armando Broja have made on the South Coast, then the 20-year-old wonderkid may be worth every single penny – and more – of a rumoured £17 million price-tag.

Dorset-born Anjorin spent the first half of this season on loan at Lokomotiv Moscow.

His time in the Russian capital came to a rather premature end, however, after Ralf Rangnick departed to take Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s place on the Manchester United bench.

It remains to be seen whether Anjorin, an England U20 international, follows Rangnick back to England.

Goal say that Southampton have entered talks with Chelsea. The Saints will have to strike a permanent deal for Anjorin, however, given that the mercurial Broja is already on loan at St Mary’s from Stamford Bridge.

Will Southampton sign another Chelsea starlet?

“Talks are ongoing,” Sheriff Anjorin said after being asked about Southampton’s interest in his client and son.

“In a few days, you will know everything. There are no other comments.”

Anjorin has made just a handful of first-team appearances for Chelsea. His one and only Premier League outing came during a 4-0 thrashing of Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton in 2020.

“I got to know Tino. I did not know much about him,” Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel told Goal last year.

“From the first day, I was very impressed because he is a very physical player. Tall guy, strong guy. He has the ability to keep the ball under pressure because he has the body for it.

“He has the physical ability to play and train with us at this level.”
