The agent of Fenerbahce’s Vedat Muriqi has suggested Tottenham Hotspur will offer for the striker while claiming Burnley bid for him in January, Fanatik report.

Muriqi has been heavily linked with a move this coming summer.

According to Fanatik, Spurs have already proposed a £22 million deal while the same editorial claims the Kosovo international wants to move to North London.

But Spurs may have competition from Premier League rivals Burnley.

Muriqi’s agent, Haluk Canatar, says the Clarets saw a January bid knocked back.

“In the break, Burnley called and made an official request. There were requests from Italy and Germany, but Fenerbahce said we do not want to sell Vedat, and the matter was closed. Vedat Muric wants Naples and Lazio from Italy and Tottenham from England. Is this claim true? I will not approve of this question. The official request from Britain will come. The official request from Italy will come.”

Football Federation president Agim Ademi told reporters for Syri TV this week how Tottenham are ready whatever it takes to sign Muriqi.

Spurs boss Jose Mourinho is evidently desperate for further attacking options.

The injury to Harry Kane has left a massive void upfront. Prior to the Covid-19 suspension, Mourinho’s side netted just five goals in six games.

Muriqi stands at 6ft 4inch. He can bully defenders while bringing others into play.

The 25-year-old has posted 21 goals this season. Last season, he netted 25 times for Caykur Rizespor earning a move to Fenerbahce.

With a contract until 2023, Fenerbahce have a real asset on their hands.
