Tottenham Hotspur fans have reacted on Twitter as Sergio Reguilon was pictured with Barcelona star Ansu Fati over this on-going international break.
Even though Reguilon has started the new Premier League season in a strong fashion, he hasn’t been picked by Spain for their World Cup qualifiers, and he has instead decided to spend his time off back home.
Judging by the Tottenham left-back’s Instagram, he has been to a concert in Barcelona, alongside Fati, who incidentally, has just taken the number 10 shirt at the Nou Camp – no pressure there then for the 18-year-old!
But Spurs fans have reacted to the image of Reguilon with the teenager and joked that they would love to buy him next summer.
Whilst Barca are in an utter financial mess, and have been selling a number of their academy stars and first-team players this summer, including Emerson Royal.
One man they won’t be letting go of is Fati because the flying forward is one for the future, alongside the technical midfield wizard, Pedri.
Come the next International break, and there are two more to go before the year is up, it would be a surprise if Reguilon isn’t picked by his country, especially if he continues to build on his current form.
He was picked by Luis Enrique last season, but when it came to his Euro 2020 squad, he was left out altogether even though there was still empty spaces remain.
Make of that what you will!
As for Fati, he injured his knee last November and has only returned to action.
So, whilst Fati and Reguilon enjoyed their time together off the field, they will be hoping to re-unite on the pitch on the international circuit pretty soon.
