The agent of Celtic hitman Vakoun Bayo has revealed to The Scottish Sun that everybody at Lennoxtown rated his client – except for manager Neil Lennon.

Lennon sent the 23-year-old striker to Toulouse on a season-long loan earlier this summer.

And on Saturday, Bayo, a £2 million signing in January of 2019, scored a double on his debut for the Ligue 2 club.

The big Ivorian striker only managed to clock 206 minutes of league football for the Hoops.

It was Brendan Rodgers who brought him to Parkhead, but the now-Leicester City manager returned to England a month later in a move which his representative claims set the tone for Bayo’s spell.

Mohamed Sissoko said: “The change of manager at Celtic made it complicated for him because it wasn’t the current manager who signed him. But everyone else at Celtic was unanimous in praising his qualities.

“He has scored goals in Ivory Coast and in Slovakia and he was signed by Brendan Rodgers, but unfortunately he left a short time later. Therefore, his playing time was reduced to nothing.”

It remains to be seen if there’s any long-term future for Bayo at Celtic.

Who knows, if he has a goal-laden loan in France then maybe the Bhoys will be interested in taking him back but, if we’re honest, it wouldn’t be a huge shock if he never pulls on the club’s shirt ever again.
