The agent of Israel international Oscar Gloukh has all-but ruled out a move to Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur, telling Sport5 that a move to the Premier League is not ‘on the agenda at the moment’.
The priority, Shahar Greenberg explains, is not to help the 18-year-old playmaker secure a move to one of Europe’s biggest clubs, but to a club capable of offering Gloukh the time and the patience he needs in order to realise his seemingly limitless potential.
Greenberg highlighted Ajax, Borussia Dortmund, Hoffenheim and Feyenoord when discussing potential destinations for his teenage client. And what do the aforementioned quartet all have in common? Well, they all possess a proven track record when it comes to youth development.

Compare that to Tottenham Hotspur. Even during a miserable run of form, Conte has been reluctant to put his faith in the likes of Bryan Gil, Djed Spence and Pape Matar Sarr. Gil started and shone during Spurs 4-0 thumping of Crystal Palace on Wednesday, but a rare Premier League start only came the Spaniard’s way due to Dejan Kulusevski’s absence.
Tottenham Hotspur won’t be signing Maccabi Tel Aviv wonderkid Oscar Gloukh
“There were offers and big money (bids for Gloukh). But these are not the offers we are looking for,” Greenberg points out. “He needs to go to the right place, allow him to develop in the right place.
“There is a certain process here and he has to go to his rightful place. Aimed in the direction of clubs of the size of Dortmund, Ajax, Feyenoord and Hoffenheim. England is less on the agenda at the moment. It should not be Oscar’s next step.”
Gloukh, a ‘very special’ talent who shot to fame during the U19 European Championships in 2021, had contact with Tottenham back in October (Sunday Mirror, 10/07, page 74).
A move to the Bundesliga or the Dutch Eredivisie is far more likely as things stand, however. Greenberg admits that Monaco – the club who gave us Kylian Mbappe, Fabinho and Bernardo Silva – are also in negotiations for ‘one of the greatest talents in Europe’.
“Once in a generation, a player like Oskar Gloch emerges. Decisions about his future should be thought out in a good way. He is a very special player,” Greenberg adds.
“The best thing for Oskar Gloch is to stay at Maccabi Tel Aviv until the end of the season. I reckon that’s what will happen. (But) if the right offer comes, then things can change.”
“His real value is a little more than 6 million euros. Maccabi Tel Aviv will also agree to sell him for less if it is to a club that can develop him so that, in the future, Maccabi will have a percentage of a future sale.
“Oscar needs to go to a place that will give him the tools to develop and go forward. We are still talking to Monaco.”
