Pape Abou Cisse is likely to leave Olympiakos in 2023 after catching the eye of Premier League duo Everton and Newcastle United, agent Federico Pastorello tells Tuttomercatoweb.
A member of the Senegal squad who reached the last-16 of the Qatar World Cup, beating hosts Qatar and an impressive Ecuador side before losing to Gareth Southgate’s England, Cisse is one of many Lions of Teranga stars facing an uncertain future heading into the New Year.
Team-mates Ismaila Sarr and Boulaye Dia already have interest from Premier League clubs. The 6ft 6ins Cisse, meanwhile, is entering the final 18 months of his contract at Olympiakos.

And, as Pastorello points out, the Greek giants are running out of time if they want to make a sizeable profit on their much-admired centre-half; one who’s outstanding performances helped Senegal claim the AFCON title for the very first time almost a year ago.
Newcastle United and Everton like Olympiakos’ Senegal ace Pape Abou Cisse
“He has played in a very important Africa Cup of Nations. He is a defender that I can imagine very well in Italy,” explains Pastorello.
“We have had several situations, even a concrete offer from Torino which Olympiacos rejected last year. He has played in the World Cup. He has made his contribution. And (his contract) is about to expire.
“If something doesn’t happen already in January, which I expect, surely in he will leave in the summer. (Olympiakos’ demands) have dropped as his contract is about to expire.
“He is too good a player not to have an opportunity in a top European league; such as Italy, Spain or England.”
According to The Sun, Newcastle held talks with the £12 million-rated Cisse’s representatives last January. Eddie Howe’s high-flying side remain in the market for defensive reinforcements amid doubts over the future of Jamaal Lascelles at St James’ Park.
Greek publication Sportime, meanwhile, believe that Everton have also shown an interest. The Toffees are expected to move on from Michael Keane and Yerry Mina sooner rather than later. The departures of both players would James Tarkowski and Conor Coady short of competition at Goodison Park.
