Agent of Tottenham Hotspur target Wilmar Barrios comments on his future, move could be viable

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked to Wilmar Barrios.

Tottenham Hotspur’s chances of signing Wilmar Barrios are very much in play.

The Sun reported Spurs are eyeing a £25 million swoop for the Boca Juniors midfielder, who is set to star for Colombia at the World Cup.

Barrios is a fan favourite at Boca Juniors and is happy to stay put, his agent confirmed.

But his representative Luis Felipe Posso also admits the midfielder would consider an offer from a big European team.

He said Barrios will not be chasing the money, hinting his decision will be a sporting one, which should be music to Tottenham’s ears.

Posso told Argentina’s Radio El Mundo, reported by Diario Jornada: “Wilmar is very happy. He wants to stay in Boca,” he reiterated.

“He would only go to Europe, if he is a big team there, he would never consider the offers from Russia and China.”

Tottenham are set to feature in the Champions League for the third consecutive year and are forging a reputation as one of the continent’s top teams.

£25 million would be a huge figure for Boca to turn down and the chance to play in the Premier League would be hard for Barrios to refuse.
