Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been tracking Joachim Andersen.

According to The Independent, Sampdoria centre-back Joachim Andersen is Tottenham Hotspur’s most likely replacement for Toby Alderweireld.
Now the defender’s father and agent has told Danish publication Bold.dk that he expects the defender to stay put.
Andersen’s father said that Andersen plans to stay at Sampdoria until the end of the season and potentially for another year after that.
The defender has built a strong reputation after signing from FC Twente in 2017.
Jacob Andersen told Bold.dk: “I must be here this summer,” he says to me. And he likes to take a season more. It’s a good team, and he loves the city. He has no hurry. He firmly believes that he will probably get the career he has planned up in his head.”

It will be up to Tottenham – or another team – to make an offer Sampdoria can’t refuse and then put the ball in Andersen’s court.
Until then the defender appears unlikely to push for a move and is happy to continue to develop.
At just 22, he is right that he will have plenty of time to land a big move, and there is a risk of making the jump too early and going to a situation where he will not be a guaranteed starter.
