The agent of Leeds United outcast Giuseppe Bellusci has been speaking about the players experience at Elland Road and his future.

The Italian joined Empoli in the summer after a breakdown of his relationship with the Leeds United fans. He is on loan at the Serie A club and whilst his agent Michelangelo Minieri admits the Leeds experience was good for the player he told Calciomercato24 that the player wants to remain at Empoli:

“At Leeds it has been two years and it was a very important and beautiful experience that has allowed him to grow as much. He has had the opportunity to compete in a major championship especially from the physical point of view. It ‘was a wonderful experience.

“The will is definitely the one to stay in Serie A, but obviously now we just finish off with Empoli and attain salvation, then there will be time to plan for the future.”

Bellusci was initially a hit at Leeds after joining from Catania in 2014 but he became increasingly unpopular with the Leeds fans.

He was clearly unpopular with the new Leeds boss Garry Monk in the summer as well, who let him leave the club.

In his, and former centre-back partner Sol Bamba’s, departure Leeds have thrived with new defenders Pontus Jansson and Kyle Bartley and the club are currently battling for the play-off places in the Championship.

Bellusci has become a regular at the Stadio Carlo Castellani, featuring in 23 Serie A games for the club who are currently fighting relegation in the Italian top-flight.

Leeds fans will hope he ends up sticking around in Italy.
