Daniel James did not join Leeds United from Swansea City on January transfer deadline day.

It has been reported that James’s move from Swansea to Championship rivals Leeds on January transfer deadline day broke down due to conflict between Swans chairman Huw Jenkins and the Welsh club’s American owners, Steve Kaplan and Jason Levien, over the sale of the 21-year-old.
The report has also claimed that James, who can operate as a winger or as an attacking midfielder, will not sign a new contract if he is offered by Swansea.
Swansea themselves issued a statement on their official website regarding James’s failed move to Leeds.
James’s agent, David Manasseh, told The Telegraph: “Swansea made no attempt to keep the player and at the first sign of money they couldn’t show him the door quickly enough. It is very disappointing but the player is philosophical about it.”

Moving on
According to The Telegraph, James had a passed a medical at Leeds, and one can understand that he must be very disappointed that he could not complete the move to the Whites.
There is nothing that James or Leeds can do until the summer of 2019, and it would be best for the player and the Whites if they move on.
With Swansea aiming for promotion to the Premier League at the end of the season, James will play an important role for the Swans in the coming months.
