Rangers’ summer signing has scored eight goals in his first 10 games since moving to Ibrox and will be looking to add to his tally against Celtic on Saturday.

The agent of Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos is worried his client will be targeted by Celtic players Saturday’s Old Firm clash at Ibrox.

Morelos has scored eight goals in his first 10 games for Rangers, and is fancied by representative Jonne Lindblom to add to his tally against Celtic, who have been unable to call upon their strongest defence so far this season.

But Lindblom warns it is not only in front of goal where the Colombian can be explosive.

“It will be really interesting to see how he does in that match,” the Scandinavian tells the Daily Record. “I don’t think Celtic are that good defensively this season so hopefully he will score.

Alfredo Morelos of Rangers is seen prior to the Betfred League Cup Quarter Final at Firhill Stadium on September 19, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

“He is the kind of player who thrives on the big games. The only worry is you can see that he can get overly excited at times. Hopefully the Celtic players won’t target him that much because he can lose his head sometimes.”

Morelos’ form has already seen him linked with a move away from Rangers, with English side Aston Villa the most notable alleged suitors.

But Lindblom insists the 21-year-old is far from the finished product, and tells the Daily Record: “The one thing I would like Alfredo to do is learn some English and I’ve been telling him this for a long time now. He needs to learn it one day but he’s been in Europe for some time now and he hasn’t really bothered to learn it.

“Hopefully that will happen but it does help when there are so many Spanish speakers [such as Carlos Pena – pictured, above] in the team. Maybe he has to learn Scottish first and that’s not the easiest language in the world!”

But with Spanish speakers few and far between at Aston Villa, for example, perhaps it’s not the worst thing from a Rangers perspective if Morelos takes his time with Lindblom’s request.

Can Rangers keep hold of Morelos if he keeps up his current form?
