Could Tottenham Hotspur be in for Nicolas Pepe this summer?
Some Tottenham Hotspur fans are delighted with Moussa Sissoko’s comments this week.
The Tottenham midfielder suggested that North London would be an ideal club for Lille winger Nicolas Pepe, linked with a move away from the Ligue 1 outfit.
Pepe has lit up France’s top flight this season, netting 22 goals and setting up another 11 from 37 appearances.
Here’s what the France international said to Le 10 Sport last weekend about his Ivory Coast counterpart.
“I do not know where he’ll go, but I wish him the best in his future club, and if it’s in England, why not Tottenham?”
Pepe would undoubtedly be a cracking addition by Mauricio Pochettino, a view shared by some Spurs fans on Twitter:
Some other Lilywhites supporters have understandably questioned how effective Pepe would be in the Premier League. After all, Pochettino has previously signed Clinton N’Jie and Kevin-Georges Nkoudou, both of whom flopped big time after moving from Ligue 1.
But the Ivory Coast international is clearly a cut above those two, hence why some of Europe’s elite clubs are said to be interested.
