Japhet Tanganga’s agent, Roberto De Fanti, has claimed that Tottenham Hotspur didn’t realise how many games his client had played when they were looking to move him out last January, as he told Deadline Day: Football’s Transfer Window on Sky Documentary.

The football agent shared that a deal with AC Milan to sign the Spurs defender was ‘pretty much done’ before Fabio Paratici realised the number of matches he had played and then proceeded to say ‘he must stay’.

Antonio Conte has hardly used the versatile defender, and whilst he could have also moved in the summer, he stayed put in north London to make up the numbers.

In truth, it’s proven to be a mistake and it’s harming his progression because he has only played 67 minutes of Premier League football this term.

And The Daily Express claim that will continue because Conte will block any move for the Englishman before transfer deadline day on Tuesday evening.

Nonetheless, during a sky documentary regarding footballing transfers, this was the insight Tanganga’s agent provided during the programme.

“I’ll try to move Tanganga now, this summer,” said De Fanti. “I hope in Italy, honestly. In January, it was pretty much a done deal with Milan.

“Then Tottenham realised (points towards Paratici having a conversation with someone else across the room) he had played 19 games last season. Didn’t you notice he played 19 games?! Then, he must stay.”

TANGANGA BETTER THAN LENGLET

French defender Clement Lenglet is on a season-long loan from Barcelona this season, and in truth, he is no better than Tanganga.

Not only is Lenglet a few years older than Tanganga, but his minutes should be given to the Englishman.

The Spurs academy product showcased promise during the early part of his career, before stagnating, but he’s not exactly going to progress by warming the bench.

Spurs might as well sell Tanganga off if they continue to use him like a piece of meat because he is much better than playing under 300 minutes of football this season.
