The agent of Lucas Lima confirms summer offer from Crystal Palace and explains why the player rejected it.

Speaking to ESPN Brasil, the agent of Brazilian international Lucas Lima, Wagner Ribeiro, has revealed that the attacker rejected Premier League side Crystal Palace this summer as he was holding out for a move to a ‘bigger club’.
Crystal Palace enjoyed a very fruitful period in the transfer window this summer as they managed to bring in a host of high profile players such as Steven Mandanda, Christian Benteke, Andros Townsend and James Tomkins among others to Selhurst Park.

Despite signing so many new players at a sizeable cost, Palace were still in the market to further strengthen their squad during the final days of the transfer window and reports from Tutto Mercato had claimed that the Eagles had made a late £12.7 million offer for Brazilian international Lucas Lima.
The transfer evidently did not come into fruition and it was revealed by Tutto Mercato Web that Palace had indeed placed a concrete offer for Lima which had been accepted by his club Santos, but not by the player.

Now agent Wagner Ribiero has gone to confirm that Lima did reject Palace and has explained that the player did so as he is currently holding out for a move to a ‘bigger club’.
Speaking to ESPN Brasil, Ribeiro said, “He rejected it, he said something better would come, since he wanted a better club. I respected it.
“Now in this window from June to August he received two more offers, but he also didn’t want it because it was not from a big club, which is his dream. It was from England, from Crystal Palace. And the other bid was from Zenit from Russia.”
