The Bayer Leverkusen ace has been a long-term transfer target for Liverpool.

Long-term Liverpool target Julian Brandt’s agent and father quashed talk of the German moving to Anfield, during an exclusive interview with German media outlet Sport Bild, insisting that he will remain with Bayer Leverkusen until at least 2019.
Jürgen Klopp is a long-time admirer of the 21-year-old, according to the Sun, with a switch from the Bundesliga to the Premier League being mooted either in January or the summer.

Brandt is one of the most highly coveted young players in Europe, and despite his tender years, he is already vastly experienced, having played 150 games for Leverkusen.
He has also earned 13 caps for Germany – no small feat with the wealth of talent that Joachim Löw has available at his disposal.
Liverpool’s hopes of bringing him to Anfield appear to have received a blow today, however, following comments made by his father and agent.
Jürgen Brandt told Sport Bild:

“Julian’s objective is to play in Europe with Leverkusen next season. He’ll definitely be here until 2019. Julian feels he has unfinished business at Leverkusen.”
Klopp will still surely be looking to bolster his attacking ranks this month, following the sale of Philippe Coutinho, but he might just have to forget a move for Brandt following his agent’s comments, and focus on other targets.
