The agent of Huesca playmaker Samu Saiz has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that there is ‘firm interest’ from Leeds United this summer.
The Whites not only announced Thomas Christiansen as their new manager last week following Garry Monk’s shock resignation, but also confirmed their first signing of the summer earlier today in Mateusz Klich.

Klich, a Polish international, may not be the only midfielder arriving at Elland Road this summer though, as Leeds are pursuing a playmaker.
El Diario Vasco reported earlier this week that Leeds are interested in signing Huesca star Samu Saiz, and will battle Eibar for his signature.
Saiz, a classic No. 10, hit 12 goals and eight assists last season, and he could now earn a move to England off the back of his impressive campaign in Spain’s second division.

Formerly of Real Madrid B, Sevilla B, Getafe B, Almeria B and Atletico Madrid B, the 26-year-old playmaker hadn’t been able to settle before joining Huesca in 2015, where he has flourished.
Now, with three Spaniards calling the shots at Elland Road – manager Christiansen, Director of Football Victor Orta and director Ivan Bravo – Saiz could end up joining Leeds this summer.

His agent, Juan Moreno, has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that there is firm interest from Leeds, as well as La Liga clubs, meaning there could be a real battle for his signature.
“Samuel has a firm (interest) from Leeds United and also other Premier League clubs in Spain,” said Moreno, with the report adding that he suggested Saiz was open to a possible move to England.
