Everton are interested in Boca Juniors defender Frank Fabra.
Agent Jose Costanzo has been quoted by Football Italia as saying that Boca Juniors left back Frank Fabra is wanted by Everton ahead of the summer transfer window.
Fabra, 27, was a star in his native Colombia with Envigado, Deportivo Cali and Independiente Medellin before making a 2016 move to Boca Juniors.
The defender has continued to impress in Argentina, showing his quality as an attack-minded left back with pace and power going forward.
Fabra will play for Colombia at this summer’s World Cup in Russia, but he may have a new club before the tournament even gets underway in June.
Strong rumours over the last week have suggested that Everton are keen to sign the left back, and his agent has now confirmed those links.
Jose Costanzo has been quoted by Football Italia as saying that Everton want Fabra, and sent scouts to watch him playing for Colombia, but face competition from Italian duo Fiorentina and Napoli ahead of the summer transfer window.
Costanzo added that Fabra’s price tag is high, meaning that a move to England may be the best option for him, and that may put Everton at the front of the queue as they pursue Leighton Baines’ successor.
“There is interest from Everton, Napoli and Fiorentina,” said Costano. “We travelled to Europe to get an idea on which clubs could be interested and for the moment there’s Everton, who sent some scouts to view Fabra playing for Colombia.”
“We haven’t received any concrete offers as of yet. In Italy, there is interest from Napoli as well as Fiorentina, so they could be options. My client’s price-tag is rather high and I think English football might be the best solution for him,” he added.
