Everton’s Davy Klaassen isn’t looking to leave the club this summer.
The agent of Everton midfielder Davy Klaassen has told The Mirror that his client ‘is not satisfied’ with his current role under Sam Allardyce – but he won’t be leaving Goodison Park.
Klaassen, 24, was a key player for Ajax in his native Netherlands, having not only captained the Amsterdam outfit but also hit 55 goals in 181 games from midfield.
Ronald Koeman swooped to sign the Dutch international, paying a reported £25million (Daily Mail) to lure Klaassen to England, with many expecting him to impress as a goalscoring midfielder.
However, Klaassen has barely made an impact at Goodison Park, starting just three Premier League games, and he has yet to register a goal or an assist in any competition for the Toffees.
With no appearances in the Premier League since September, Klaassen is in danger of becoming a forgotten man, especially under Koeman’s replacement Sam Allardyce.
Klaassen has barely been within a sniff of the first team under Allardyce, and some even believe that he could leave the club this month in pursuit of first-team football elsewhere.
Now though, agent Soren Lerby has told The Mirror that Klaassen has no plans to leave the club, and wants to fight for his place, even though he isn’t satisfied with his current role under Allardyce.
“Of course Davy is not satisfied with his role,” said Lerby. But he wants to fight for his chance,” he added.
