The 23-year-old’s agent has said that the youngster is happy at Roma, and he has stated that a lot of clubs, including Arsenal, like him.
Diawara’s agent, Daniele Piraino, told Tuttomercatoweb, as translated by The London Evening Standard: “He is concentrated on his career. Diawara is at a top club like Roma, where he is happy, as there is enthusiasm around the new owners.
“However, he is also liked by many clubs in England, including Arsenal. Being linked with certain clubs is pleasing for him, as these are prestigious sides. Amadou is concentrated on football and his career.”
Stats
Diawara joined Roma in the summer of 2019 after leaving fellow Italian club Napoli.
According to WhoScored, the 23-year-old made 19 starts and three substitute appearances in Serie A last season, scoring one goal and providing one assist in the process.
The defensive midfielder also made five starts and one substitute appearance in the Europa League for Roma in 2019-20, according to WhoScored.
Good signing for Arsenal?
Arsenal could do with a new defensive midfielder, and Diawara does fit the bill.
The 23-year-old can only get better and improve in the coming years, and working with a quality manager such as Mikel Arteta, he will add more facets to his game.
