Sheffield Wednesday were reported to have struck a deal for Djourou.

Johan Djourou is seeking a return to English football – less than a year since he snubbed a move to Sheffield Wednesday.
Wednesday were reported to have agreed a deal for Djourou, only for the Switzerland centre-back to turn up in Turkey the following week.
But in quotes published in Friday’s Sun newspaper (Goals pullout, page 9), Djourou’s agent says his client is trying to break his contract with Antalysapor a year before it expires.
And the 31-year-old has a move to either England, France, Spain or Italy in his sights.
“We have appealed to Fifa to let Johan cancel his contract. There have already been several delays with his salary,” explains Djourou’s representative Costa Bonato.

“We made it clear the situation had to be resolved by the end of the season. However that has not happened.
“Johan wants to move to a club in England, France, Spain or Italy for the sake of his children’s education. But there is nothing concrete for him just yet.”

According to the Star, Sheffield Wednesday have prioritised the signing of a new centre-back in the summer transfer window, with former loan star Frederico Venancio said to be a top target.
But after last summer’s antics, not to mention Jos Luhukay’s desire to bring down the average age of the squad he inherited from Carlos Carvalhal in January, the Owls may opt to swerve their former target.
