Newcastle United have been linked with Bruno Genesio.

Agent Karim Djaziri has told Foot01 in France that Lyon boss Bruno Genesio has proposals from clubs in England amid links to Newcastle United.
Genesio, 52, had never managed a club before stepping into the Lyon role in 2015, and it’s fair to say he has impressed in the role.
The Frenchman has won 55% of his games in charge of Lyon whilst impressing in the Europa League and Champions League, with his record for developing players quite remarkable.
The likes of Ferland Mendy, Tanguy Ndombele, Houssem Aouar, Lucas Tousart, Memphis Depay and Nabil Fekir have all become stars under Genesio, and yet he could leave the club.
Genesio’s contract expires this summer, and L’Equipe reported just last week that Newcastle United are interested in Genesio should Rafael Benitez decide to leave the club when his own deal ends.
The report came as something of a surprise given that Newcastle are still attempting to keep Benitez at the club, but plans need to be made in case he leaves St James’ Park.

Now, agent Djaziri has suggested that there are proposals on the table from English clubs, though teams in China are also keen, meaning a big summer move may well be in the pipeline.
“I know that Bruno Genesio has had proposals,” said Djaziri. “I know he still has proposals. He has proposals in England, but not just in England. I have been to China three times since October, and I have been told about him. In China, they give good contracts and I know for sure that he preferred not to listen to these offers to stay focused not on a possible extension, but on his work,” he added.
With English interest being claimed just days after that Newcastle rumour, Magpies fans may well believe they are the club to be speaking to Genesio – even though Benitez is still the priority.
