Not many Premier League clubs will be eyeing up Slovakian football for a shopping trip this summer.

Most clubs will be shopping in more illustrious markets, but it seems that Everton have found one player in Slovakia that they fancy.

Dominik Kruzliak has been featuring in Slovakia for some time now. The centre back emerged with Ruzomberok, racking up more than 130 appearances.

Last year, Kruzliak moved on to Dunajska Streda. He stayed in Slovakia, but bigger teams in Europe seemingly showed an interest in recent times.

Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, agent Michal Holescak claimed that Everton wanted Kruzliak after he faced them with Ruzomberok in 2017, whilst Atalanta have now joined the race.

Holescak added that Kruzliak has a release clause of just €700,000 (£630,000), and a move this summer is now expected for the Slovakian international.

“Since we are talking about Italy, I can say that there was a strong interest from Atalanta and also from Everton after the Europa League match. He has a clause of seven hundred thousand euros, we expect him to move in the next two months,” said Kruzliak.

“He is a modern player, a central defender with great athletic qualities. He has an excellent mentality, he is twenty three years old but already a lot of experience. He has long been the captain of the teams where he played, he has over 150 games already played among the pros, also in the Europa League, Under 21 and also in the National A,” he added.

Everton will be in the market for a centre back this summer, and maybe a calculated six-figure punt on a player like Kruzliak will become more and more appealing as the financial impact of the global pandemic is felt.
