Everton are reportedly pursuing the signature of Jean-Philippe Gbamin.

Agent Bernard Collignon has told Le Parisien that Mainz ace Jean-Philippe Gbamin has been ‘seduced’ by the idea of a move to Everton.
The Toffees are seemingly preparing for Idrissa Gueye to move on this summer, with Sky Sports reporting that he’s nearing a £28million move to Paris Saint-Germain.
That’s a major issue given how important Gueye is defensively to the Everton side, with the Senegal international often racking up tackles and interceptions for the Toffees.
Finding a replacement is key, and Foot Mercato report that Everton have already identified Mainz star Gbamin as the ideal target to fill Gueye’s shoes.
Gbamin, 23, is allegedly a long-term target of Marcel Brands way back to his PSV Eindhoven days, and is now pushing for a quick €35million (£30million) move.
The Ivory Coast international is strong and athletic, but also possesses ability on the ball and a great reading of the game, with his defensive ability making him a potentially ideal replacement for Gueye.

Now, agent Collignon has discussed the situation, and has revealed that Gbamin has been ‘seduced’ by Everton, and would love to play for such a strong team in the Premier League.
“Jean-Philippe is seduced by the idea of joining Everton,” said Collignon. “To discover the championship of England in a club near the top of table would represent, for him, a very beautiful opportunity and a very good stage,” he added.
Everton may not let Gueye finalise his move without a replacement lined up, and it seems that there should be plenty of news about Gbamin’s potential move in the coming days.
