Mohamed Magdy’s agent has told the Daily Record that there is an offer on the table from Celtic ahead of the transfer deadline.
The Bhoys beat St Johnstone 2-0 away from home today, but are still in the market for reinforcements to bolster Neil Lennon’s squad.
A left back appears to the priority, but an attacking midfielder is now being linked with a move to Parkhead.
Al Ahly ace Magdy, 24, is allegedly wanted by Celtic, with agent Abdel Rahman Ismail claiming the Bhoys have put an offer on the table.
“Mohamed has an offer from Celtic and one from a club in Saudi Arabia,” said Ismail. “It’s up to Al-Ahly to accept or reject the offers,” he added.
Magdy joined Al Ahly from Pyramids last summer, and hit six goals and 10 assists last season whilst predominantly playing as a number 10.

An Egyptian international with five caps to his name, Magdy is a diminutive playmaker who is making waves in his homeland, but a move to Celtic seems unlikely.
The Bhoys already have a number of attacking midfield players, such as Ryan Christie, Tom Rogic and summer signing David Turnbull.
Adding another one into the mix just doesn’t make sense right now given their need at left back, so we’re not expecting to see Magdy in green and white hoops any time soon.
