Arsenal supporters are grateful that the truth has come out about Thomas Partey after claims emerged about their player on Monday.
It was suggested that the Arsenal midfielder had been ‘sacked’ from the Ghana national team.
But then Football London started to report that wasn’t the case and he was simply ‘granted permission’ to miss Ghana’s friendly games.
Since then, the Ghanian FA themselves have echoed those words, which debunks those earlier claims.
Arsenal fans are just glad that their £45 million star (BBC Sport) isn’t seen in a bad light and everything has been cleared up.
The last thing Arsenal need is more negativity piled onto their club because things aren’t exactly rosy on the field, nor in the transfer market.
Nonetheless, it has been a tough debut campaign for Partey at Arsenal and he will be hoping this forthcoming summer will allow him to recharge and go again next season.
Nicolas Pepe should be used as an example to Partey in the fact that it’s okay to start off in an indifferent manner because he ended the recently concluded season in a fantastic fashion.
And Partey will be hoping to do the same for an Arsenal side craving for European football after missing out on it this season for the first time in 25 years.
