Aston Villa have already smashed their transfer record on Emi Buendia this summer, but it doesn’t seem as though they will stop there.
Many names have been linked with the Midlands giants, including Chelsea striker, Tammy Abraham.
But Gabby Agbonlahor wants Villa to sign another English striker in the form of Southampton’s speed machine, Danny Ings.
Sky Sports reported on Monday that Ings, who has one year left on his Saints contract, has rejected a new deal at the club.
Football Daily posted about this news on their Instagram page and asked supporters which team should try to sign Ings this summer.
And Agbonlahor simply posted in the comments section ‘Aston Villa’, although he was sarcastically jibed at by former Republic of Ireland international, David Meyler.
The footballer turned Youtuber responded to Agbonlahor’s comment by saying ‘smaller club, no?’.
It’s pretty obvious he was trying to get a reaction from the ex-Villa man.
Either way, if Ings does leave St Mary’s this summer then his £20 million talents (BBC Sport) will be of a huge benefit to whoever he signs for.
Injuries may have stagnated Ings’ time at Liverpool, but there’s no reason why his goalscoring qualities shouldn’t be playing in Europe next season.
