Former Aston Villa captain Gabriel Agbonlahor has aimed a dig at Wolves defender Conor Coady, after Nuno Espirito Santo’s side lost 4-0 to West Ham.
The ex-Villans striker had a pop at the England international’s struggles when up against quick players, as the Midlands-based outfit were hammered by the Irons on Sunday.
Agbonlahor also adds that Nuno’s side ‘missed’ Diogo Jota, who recently joined Liverpool in a deal worth £41 million.
The Portuguese international would be a loss to any side, having scored 16 goals last season.
The 33-year-old is perhaps being slightly reactionary after just one defeat, although given the Midlands rivalry between Villa and Wolves, it might just be possible that he’s attempting to wind the Molineux faithful up.

To be fair, Agbonlahor has a point though.
Coady was run ragged by the pace of Michail Antonio and the direct running of Jarrod Bowen.
He gave away three fouls in total which was more than any other Wolves player committed, as WhoScored shows.

However, this was just one game where the usually fantastic ex-Liverpool defender simply wasn’t at it.
He has been so good for Wolves that the club are currently thinking about handing him a contract extension to place him amongst the highest earners at Molineux, according to The Daily Mail.
