Gabby Agbonlahor has stated on Twitter that he thinks Jesse Marsch’s Leeds United ‘will go down’ following their 1-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest on Sunday at the City Ground.

The former striker was also asked if he was ‘worried’ about Aston Villa’s ‘shocking’ defending their 4-2 defeat to Leicester City on Saturday, but he responded by saying that it was a ‘one-off’.

Villa failed to provide Leeds with a helping hand because those three points for Brendan Rodgers’s men means that the Foxes are three points ahead of the Yorkshire outfit, who are hovering above the relegation zone on goal difference only.

It does need to be noted that Leeds have a game in hand on those around them, whilst the bottom three, Nottingham Forest and Wolves all have a worse goal difference.

Come the end of the season, that might prove to be an extra point, so from that aspect, albeit a small one, it’s a positive.

But Agbonlahor isn’t certain that Leeds will be playing Premier League football next term, as he issued the following response to their relegation chances and Villa’s result yesterday.

“Worried for Leeds I think they go down,” Agbonlahor added.

MARSCH UNDER PRESSURE

This was a big, big game for Leeds, yet they fell short once again. Yes, they have that game in hand, but that cutting-edge just isn’t there.

Those in the Elland Road boardroom backed Marsch in the summer and during the January transfer window.

From the winter transfer window alone, it would be daft to let him go because his new faces, such as Weston McKennie who came off the bench, are yet to get warmed up.

But this is the time when those in suits and the fans in the stands start to panic, all of which just increases the chances of Marsch getting the boot.
