Gabriel Agbonlahor said on talkSPORT (4:44pm, February 18, 2021) that Arsenal will be unable to sell Willian.
The former Aston Villa striker, who now works as a pundit for talkSPORT, believes that due to the three-year contract that Willian signed with Arsenal in the summer of 2020, the North London club will find it hard to offload him.
Agbonlahor said about Willian on talkSPORT (4:44pm, February 18, 2021): “Willian for me, it’s a difficult situation Arteta is in. He is probably thinking to himself, ‘I am not going to play this guy. I have got young players who are more hungry, more determined to play for Arsenal’.
“But he has got a three-year contract, so you can’t get rid of him because I don’t think anyone is going to take him at the moment, so you might as well use him when you can.”
Difficult time at Arsenal
Much was expected of Willian, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, when he arrived at Arsenal on a free transfer in the summer of 2020 following his departure from London and Premier League rivals Chelsea.
Arsenal Technical Director Edu described the Brazilian winger as a player who has “a lot of fantastic attributes” on the club’s official website in August 2020.

However, things have not gone according to plan, and the 32-year-old is now not even guaranteed a place in the starting lineup.
According to WhoScored, the Brazil international international has made 12 starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal so far this season, providing three assists in the process.
Willian has also made one start and three substitute appearances in the Europa League for the Gunners so far this campaign, according to WhoScored.
