Gabby Agbonlahor has claimed that ‘something’s not right’ at Arsenal amid the Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang situation.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta dropped his club captain and best attacker for the 2-1 defeat away to Everton on Monday night night.

Even worse, the Gunners boss brought Eddie Nketiah – who’s tipped to quit the club in January – on ahead of Aubameyang.

There is simply no denying that the Gabon international – who is away on Africa Cup of Nations duty later this month – has experienced a major decline this season.

But with Nketiah barely kicking a ball in the Premier League this season prior to the outing at Goodison Park, Agbonlahor revealed to talkSPORT that he’d destroy the dressing room in frustration if the 22-year-old got minutes before him.

He told talkSPORT this morning, when asked if he would be offended if Nketiah was called upon before him.

“Something’s not right there. Offended? The tables are getting thrown up in the changing room at Goodison Park after the game! How dare you. Worrying times isn’t it?”

Context

Context is extremely important to include on this occasion.

Remember, Aubameyang is Arsenal’s best-paid player in terms of salary, taking home £300,000 per week.

And at 32, he is also the Gunners’ most senior and important outfield player because, on his day, the former Borussia Dortmund attacker is absolutely unplayable, as Premier League stalwarts have discovered for themseleves over the past five years.

But when Agbonlahor says that he would be flipping over tables in the dressing room, it is not a dig at Nketiah by any means.

He is saying that he’d be furious that a fringe player at Arsenal is getting minutes ahead of him and, honestly, it’s a fair point.

However, Aubameyang has been awful for massive chunks of the past 18 months and really, he has brought this situation on himself at Arsenal.
