Gabby Agbonlahor has shared that if he had to pick between Gabriel Jesus or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at their peaks, then he chooses the Arsenal star over Chelsea’s summer signing, as he told talkSPORT.

The former Aston Villa player claimed that Gabriel Jesus is the ‘perfect’ striker and he has the ‘whole package’ compared to Aubameyang.

Of course, it was Jesus who replaced Aubameyang in Arsenal’s XI this summer, after he was stripped of the captain’s armband last November, and then let go to Barcelona during the January transfer window.

That road for Aubameyang saw him recalled to England by his former boss Thomas Tuchel this summer, only for Chelsea to sack the German straight after.

Despite that, Aubameyang has made a pretty decent start to life at Stamford Bridge, scoring on his Premier League debut for the club and in the Champions League in midweek under Graham Potter.

Agbonlahor spoke about the possible worries the Gabon star would have been going through with Potter’s arrival and how he might be cast aside, as he picked Jesus over the former Arsenal man.

“I think he will do well, but he went to Chelsea because of Thomas Tuchel,” said Agbonlahor. “Imagine going to the club and the manager is sacked after one game? He might think ‘Is Potter going to want me? Will he listen to my time at Arsenal? About being late and being this flash footballer?’ But he deserves a chance.

“I don’t think long-term he will be the solution, but until Potter brings in a number nine he wants, then he will get you goals.

“Arsenal have moved on. They have got one of the best strikers around in Gabriel Jesus.

On who he would pick at their peak: “Jesus. You know what because Jesus offers the whole package. He scores goals, drops off and gets involved in the play. Then he is one of the hardest-working players on the pitch. Tracking back. Hunting defenders. He’s the perfect striker for a manager.”

JESUS HAS LIFTED ARSENAL

Added to bringing a winning mentality to proceedings, after his title-winning days at Manchester City, Jesus has also lifted the place around him.

After eight Premier League games, he has five goals and three assists to his name, as Mikel Arteta’s side sit at the top of the tree.

With Aubameung at Stamford Bridge, over the long run, it’s going to be interesting how life pans out for the player compared with Jesus on the other side of London.

When Arteta booted him out last season, there was a lot of drama around that call, but so far, he has proven to be correct.
