Gabby Agbonlahor told talkSPORT in a hesitant manner that Kalvin Phillips would be the only Leeds United player to get into a top ten Premier League side.
The former striker, who has been outspoken about Leeds since their promotion to England’s top-flight, thinks Phillips would only get into Southampton’s side – they are currently sitting ninth in the table.
Leeds have been indifferent this season. One week they can well and truly thump their opponents, but then they can be on the end of a heavy defeat themselves.
Following Leeds’ 3-0 defeat to Spurs on Saturday, Agbonlahor was asked about how many players from the Yorkshire club would get into a current top ten Premier League side.
“Maybe Phillips,” said Agbonlahor. “West Ham, are they top ten? Southampton maybe.
Agbonlahor is then told that Phillips wouldn’t get ahead of Declan Rice: “No, I don’t think he does,” he agreed. “Maybe Southampton. Maybe he would get into there.”

It needs to be remembered that a lot of these Leeds players were sitting mid-table in the Championship before Marcelo Bielsa took over.
But the level of coaching that has gone into these players has been exceptional and they deserve to be in their current position.
So there’s no reason as to why they cannot continue that rise and be a top ten Premier League team either this season or the next.
