The Aston Villa striker has had to endure a tremendously challenging campaign.
Aston Villa’s Gabriel Agbonlahor
Villa striker Gabby Agbonlahor took to Instagram to respond to a fan’s message highlighting his achievements during his time at the club.
The 30-year-old has come under fire this season from the club’s fans for his perceived lack of fitness, and rapid decline.
He hasn’t featured for Steve Bruce’s side since January 21st, and is currently working his way back to full fitness, before he can be considered for a place in the first-team setup.
The striker has been at Villa Park for his entire career, apart from two short loan spells spent away from the club, and has racked up 84 goals in a Villa shirt.
And one Villa fan wrote on Agbonlahor’s official Instagram account:
“Villa legend. No matter what people say, you’re our top Premier League goal scorer for a reason.”
The Villans hitman replied:
“People have short memories, thanks.”
Whether or not Agbonlahor still has a future at Villa Park remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure, he will have to return in a much better condition to the one in which he began the season.
But with Jonathan Kodjia already at the club, and Steve Bruce reportedly keen on strengthening his attacking options in the summer, the Birmingham born star will have his work cut-out to once again become a first-team regular for Villa.
