Gabby Agbonlahor has backed Danny Rose following his heated exchange with Jose Mourinho during Tottenham’s All or Nothing Amazon documentary.

The former Aston Villa striker urged Rose to ‘speak your mind’ on Twitter and also claimed that he is Tottenham’s ‘best left-back’.

Agbonlahor also warned that ‘managers have crumbled’ after such situations, but he made it clear that Rose’s fiery talk with Mourinho is a normal occurrence at football clubs.

Tottenham’s All or Nothing documentary saw Mourinho and Rose clash in his office about his performance against Liverpool, and his performances in training – he had just been left out of their clash against Watford and wanted to speak to his manager about his situation.

At the time, Rose was in and out of Tottenham’s starting XI, with Mourinho praising him for his work in training the week before their game against Jurgen Klopp’s men.

But the out-spoken Portuguese boss felt his performance against the champions-elect, and in training thereafter, wasn’t good enough, which didn’t please Rose.

It resulted in the Tottenham academy product moving out on-loan to Newcastle in January and he has since returned and is seemingly part of Mourinho’s first-team plans ahead of the new season.

There’s no doubt that Rose was Tottenham’s left-back, and one of the best in the Premier League, during the majority of Mauricio Pochettino’s reign in North London.

But something somewhere went wrong and it has seen him lose his place in the Spurs team and the chance to represent his country.
