Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz has praised Tottenham Hotspur defender Sergio Reguilon on Instagram following his return to the club this summer.
The 26-year-old was loaned-out by Antonio Conte to La Liga giants Atletico Madrid last season, and now with Ange Postecoglou in the dugout, he is hoping to work his way back into Tottenham’s first-team.
After his victory over Novak Djokovic at Wimbledon, Carlos Alcaraz sent a five-word message to Sergio Reguilon complimenting him for his current efforts in pre-season.
The duo are close friends, with Alcaraz posting in the comments section of the Tottenham star’s Instagram post: ‘Putting on a show, again’.
Whilst Spurs suffered a 3-2 defeat to West Ham United in their opening pre-season match and then watched their pre-season game against Leicester City cancelled because of the heavy rain.
They produced the goods on Wednesday by putting five goals past Lion City Sailors in Singapore, with Reguilon coming off the bench and posting the following message to his followers on IG.

After joining from Real Madrid in 2020, Reguilon has had a mixed time of it at Tottenham, with Conte hardly giving the left-back a chance during his reign, before sending him out on loan.
Heading into the 2023 summer transfer window, there are suggestions that the club are willing to offload him.
Reguilon’s challengers are Ryan Sessegnon, but he is injured again. Another one is Ben Davies, but he played in a back three for large parts of last season.
Then there is 34-year-old Ivan Perisic, but the Croatia star has been told he is free to leave this summer, whilst youngster Destiny Udogie has also returned from his own loan spell and he is a player fans are very excited about.
