Jurgen Klopp told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport that it’s ‘a pleasure to watch’ Nat Phillips in action following Liverpool’s 1-0 win over Wolves on Monday night.
Diogo Jota scored the only goal of the game against his former club, as Liverpool recorded all three points and another much-needed clean sheet.
Once again, it was the partnership of Ozan Kabak and Phillips that starred at the back for the champions.
After the game, Klopp waxed-lyrical about both their performances, including Phillips, who had his ‘head again everywhere’.
“Ozan is 20-years-old, new club and comes here with the only confidence here that we wanted him,” said Klopp. “All the rest before that was only bad experiences.
“It was going on here a little bit result-wise. But he stayed on track and gained confidence more and played a really good game.
“But together with Nat again. Come on. Nat Phillips (chuckles). I am not sure he had his head again everywhere, so it’s just a pleasure to watch him.”

Klopp must be kicking himself because he had the option to pick Kabak and Phillips a lot earlier and a lot more but opted for the safe hands of Fabinho at the back instead.
But with the Brazil international doing what every Liverpool supporter wants him to do now – play in midfield – it is having its desired effect and the Reds are looking like themselves again.
This is momentum for Liverpool now and if their Champions League performances are included then their fans will be hoping they can now go on a much-needed winning run.
